Swap weak or off-brand clips for stronger source footage in the Bevyl editor without rebuilding your draft or losing the rest of your edit.

Setup
- Open the project in the Bevyl editor. Your project must have at least one source video already in the Source Videos list.
- Identify the clip you want to replace by watching the timeline preview.

Step by step
1. Open the Videos panel
Click Videos in the left panel tabs. The panel shows three actions at the top — Add Source Videos, Add Overlay Video, and Swap out a Clip (Beta) — followed by the Source Videos list.

2. Start the swap
Click Swap out a Clip. The panel switches to the clip picker, which lets you select which timeline clip to replace and choose the replacement footage from your source videos.

3. Select the clip to replace
Click the timeline clip you want to swap out. The clip highlights to confirm your selection.
4. Choose replacement footage
Select the source video you want to use as the replacement. Bevyl swaps the clip in place and updates the timeline preview.
5. Preview the result
Play back the timeline to confirm the replacement fits the pacing and length of your video.
If something blocks you
- "Swap out a Clip" is not visible — make sure you are in the Videos tab (not AI, Images, or other tabs). The button appears above the Source Videos list.
- No source videos listed — click Add Source Videos first to upload footage, then return to Swap out a Clip.
- The swap does not apply — the feature is labeled Beta; if the action stalls, refresh the editor and retry.
Done
The clip is replaced in the timeline and the preview reflects the new footage. No other clips or captions are affected.
