Batching

What is Batching?

Content batching is the practice of creating multiple pieces of content in one focused session, for example scripting, filming, and editing a week of posts in dedicated blocks. Grouping similar tasks together reduces the time lost to switching between different types of work.

When you'd use it

  1. 1When posting daily is creating inconsistent output because content is made reactively.
  2. 2When a production session is available and multiple videos can be recorded in one sitting.
  3. 3When a team member handles editing and needs a queue of raw footage to work through.
  4. 4When a content calendar needs to be filled two or three weeks ahead.
  5. 5When switching between planning, filming, and editing separately is causing delays.

Example

A lifestyle creator dedicated two Saturdays per month to filming, completing roughly 10 videos per session to cover two weeks of posts. This schedule cut per-video production time by about 30 percent and allowed the creator to spend weekdays engaging with comments, freed from daily deadline pressure.

Use cases

  1. 1Filming ten short talking-head clips in a single session to cover two weeks of scheduled posts.
  2. 2Editing a full week of short-form videos back to back so no production work falls on posting days.
  3. 3Grouping caption writing and thumbnail selection into one focused block so the publishing queue stays full.
